Four FIS-Certified Courses Signal a More Professional Shanghai Snow-Sports Market. Exhibit at SRT SHOW SHANGHAI 2027.

2026-10-01

Shanghai’s snow-sports opportunity is becoming more specific. It is no longer only about introducing first-time visitors to snow. The market is also developing the conditions that support professional competition, recurring training, better venue operations and a wider commercial ecosystem around them.

According to Shanghai’s official report, four courses at Shanghai Yaoxue Snow World have received International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) certification. The recognition covers blue, red and black courses and supports alpine slalom and snowboard parallel slalom across age groups. It means the venue has hardware capability for a broader range of professional events; it does not mean that a particular international event has already been confirmed.

Certification turns a venue into a business platform

For B2B suppliers, FIS-certified terrain is a commercial signal. A venue that operates at this level must think beyond ticket sales: course preparation, safety procedures, race operations, coaching standards, training schedules, equipment readiness, participant experience, media delivery and the commercial programme around each event.

That creates practical sales conversations. Equipment brands can discuss products for training and event settings. Rental, boot-fitting and maintenance partners can offer systems that improve throughput and safety. Coaches, academies and education providers can build progressive development pathways. Timing, tracking and technology businesses can explain how they support competition and member engagement. Event agencies, travel companies and retail partners can propose packages that extend the value of a visit beyond the slope.

The official report also records strong consumer traction: more than one million visitors in the venue’s first year, around 30% year-on-year growth for the wider resort in its second year, and peak holiday days above 10,000 visitors. These are not guarantees for every supplier. They do show why venue operators, brands and service providers need stronger operating and partnership plans as the market matures.

Professional capability needs an ecosystem

A recognised course is only one part of a credible snow-sports proposition. The customer experience has to work from reservation through arrival, fitting, lessons, on-slope safety, food and retail, event participation and follow-up. The operator also needs reliable partners who can provide local support, staff training, maintenance, channel access and programmes that keep participants returning.

This is where an exhibitor can move beyond a product catalogue. A ski or snowboard supplier can arrive with a training, demo and retail plan. A technical supplier can pair equipment with maintenance and staff education. A tourism business can link event weekends to hotel, transport and destination products. A software provider can combine booking, membership and retention ideas. A distributor can show how a brand can reach the right local channels after the show.

Why the conversation belongs at SRT SHOW SHANGHAI 2027

SRT SHOW SHANGHAI 2027 gives exhibitors a place to meet the companies and decision-makers needed for this kind of market development. From 14–16 May 2027 at Hall 3, Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center, the show brings together snow venues, resort and training operators, equipment and apparel brands, distributors, retailers, travel businesses, service providers, event partners and technology teams.

A booth should create more than exposure. It should make a commercial proposition easy to understand: what decision can your company help an operator make, which channel partner can take the product into the market, and what follow-up meeting should happen after the show? When a venue’s role grows from leisure destination to training and event platform, those are the questions that turn a meeting into a sales pipeline.

Shanghai’s official report says Yaoxue Snow World plans to introduce international-level events in the future. Companies that want to serve venue operations, training, events, retail or destination consumption should be visible before needs and partner lists are fixed.
