The Next Stage of Snow Sports Growth Starts with People, Education and Connection
The future of snow sports is shaped by more than new lifts, new destinations or a stronger equipment range. It depends on the people who create a safe, skilled and welcoming experience: coaches, resort teams, athletes, instructors, distributors, travel partners and the organisations that connect them.
That is the signal behind FIS Development’s latest four-year review. From 2022 to 2026, 2,378 athletes and coaches took part in almost 20,000 individual development days on snow. Participation grew 141%, while program-specific activities grew 208% to 97. During the 2025/26 season alone, FIS delivered or supported 37 activities across Europe, South America and Asia, reaching almost 800 athletes and coaches.

The figures should not be read as a single-market sales forecast. They show a wider industry direction: sustainable growth needs a pipeline of capability. Training, equipment access, coaching education, safety practices and knowledge sharing make it easier for people to enter snow sports, stay involved and recommend the experience to others.
Growth needs an operating ecosystem
For resorts, the practical impact begins on the ground. A first-time skier needs clear instruction, accessible equipment and confidence in the destination. A returning guest looks for better service, fresh experiences and a reason to bring friends or family. For brands and distributors, the opportunity comes from understanding how their product supports that journey — from training and rentals to travel planning, retail and resort operations.

FIS has also identified the same infrastructure challenges across its member community: funding, access to facilities, coaching education, athlete retention, equipment accessibility and knowledge sharing. These are not isolated issues. They are connected decisions across an ecosystem that includes resorts, education providers, equipment companies, destination marketers and travel businesses.
Asia is part of that next stage. FIS reported signed guarantees for more than 800 ski days across the continent, alongside development activity in the 2025/26 season. That does not remove the need for local market knowledge; it makes cross-border conversation more relevant. As demand, destination development and product access grow together, partners need better ways to meet, compare needs and build workable collaborations.
From conversation to business opportunity
This is where a B2B exhibition has a practical role. It gives ski resorts, equipment brands, distributors, travel operators and service suppliers a focused place to turn market interest into introductions, partnership discussions and future plans.

SRT SHOW SHANGHAI 2027 brings together skiing, resort operations, travel, equipment and outdoor lifestyle in one focused B2B meeting point. Whether the conversation starts with a product launch, a distribution partnership, a destination campaign or a training-led service, the value is in meeting the people who influence the complete snow-sports experience.
